BJ's Gas Payment Methods: What's Accepted at the Pump

What does BJ's Gas accept? Every major card — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover — plus debit, BJ's gift cards, and Tap & Pay. Members only.

The short answer

At BJ's Gas you can pay with any major credit card — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover — plus debit cards, BJ's gift cards, and contactless Tap & Pay using a tapped card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. There is no cash at the pump: BJ's Gas is self-serve and card-operated, and it is a members-only benefit, so the pump checks for an active BJ's membership before it dispenses.

Good to know

BJ's Gas is a members-only benefit. Before you pay, scan your membership card — the physical card or the digital one in the BJ's app — then tap or insert your payment. The exception is the BJ's One Mastercard: one tap processes your membership and payment at the same time.

Two BJ’s co-brand cards from Capital One take money straight off the pump price: the BJ’s One™ Mastercard® knocks 10¢ off every gallon, and the BJ’s One+™ Mastercard® takes 15¢ off (it requires a Club+ membership). Those discounts stack on top of BJ’s already-low member pricing.

A Club+ membership itself adds 5¢ off every gallon, and the Fuel Saver program banks another 10¢/gallon for each specially marked “High Octane” item you buy in-club — savings you can stack across several shopping trips before a fill-up.

Unlike some warehouse clubs that lock the pump to a single card network — Costco in the U.S. takes Visa only — BJ’s accepts every major network, so whatever is in your wallet will almost certainly work.
