The short answer
Yes — BJ's sells diesel, but it's the one fuel that isn't at every club. Of the roughly 202 BJ's fuel stations we track, about 89 carry diesel— a little under half — while every gas station sells regular and premium. It's standard on-road ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD), sold to members only, and usually priced below the local truck stop. Because availability is hit-or-miss, check that your club has a diesel pump before you drive.
BJ's Gas keeps things simple: two grades of gasoline at every club, plus diesel at a subset of them. If you drive a diesel truck, van, or SUV, the real questions aren't whetherBJ's sells diesel but which clubs have it, how much it costs, and whether it's good fuel. Here's the full picture.
Does BJ's have diesel? Yes — at about 89 of 202 clubs
BJ's sells diesel, but unlike regular and premium — which are at every BJ's Gas location — diesel is only at some of them. In our live data across the roughly 202 BJ's fuel stations in the U.S., about 89 sell diesel. That's a little under half; the other clubs pump only 87-octane regular and 93-octane premium.
So "does BJ's gas have diesel?" depends entirely on the specific club. A location with a fuel station isn't guaranteed to have a diesel pump — the diesel clubs are a subset, and they skew toward BJ's busiest markets. Diesel shows up at clubs in more than 20 states, most heavily in Florida, New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, and it's the norm at BJ's stations in a few states (Tennessee, Michigan, Texas). A handful of states with BJ's gas — Delaware, for one — have no diesel pump at all right now.
Finding diesel near you: don't guess, check the pump
Because roughly half of BJ's clubs skip diesel, the worst thing you can do is assume the nearest club has it and drive over on faith. The reliable way to find BJ's diesel near you is to confirm the specific station first:
- Check the station page. Every club page on this site shows whether that location sells diesel and its live price— if there's no diesel number, that club doesn't have a diesel pump.
- Start from the map. Our stations near me page lists the closest BJ's fuel stations so you can open the nearest few and see which one lists a diesel price.
- Or use BJ's own locator. BJ's official gas pagehas a club finder, though it won't always flag diesel by pump the way a live price does.
A minute of checking beats a wasted trip — especially since the diesel clubs are unevenly spread, and two BJ's in the same metro can differ on whether they carry it.
How much is diesel at BJ's?
Diesel prices move daily and vary by club, so the only honest answer is a live one — but here's the shape of it. As of early July 2026, diesel at BJ's averages a little over $4.50 a gallon across the clubs that sell it, versus about $3.54 for regular. That puts diesel roughly $1 a gallon above regularright now. Diesel isn't tied to the gasoline price — it tracks its own market and its own taxes, so that gap widens and narrows over the year and has at times flipped below regular.
What's consistent is the discount versus other stations. Like the rest of BJ's fuel, diesel is a members-only pump priced to beat the nearby branded stations and truck stops — commonly by a dime or more per gallon. On a 25-gallon fill that's real money, and it's before any of BJ's stackable discounts.

Is BJ's diesel good fuel?
For the vast majority of drivers, yes. BJ's diesel is standard ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD)— the same on-road diesel sold everywhere in the country. That isn't a marketing claim: since December 1, 2010 all diesel sold for U.S. highway use must be ULSD (15 ppm sulfur maximum), and pumps have to be labeled as such. Any 2007 or newer diesel vehicle is built for exactly this fuel, and it's safe in older diesels too.
Like BJ's gasoline, the diesel is unbranded: BJ's doesn't refine its own fuel, it buys finished product from the same major regional suppliers that stock the name-brand stations nearby, and it meets the EPA's quality rules. The one asterisk is the same as for the gasoline — BJ's fuel isn't Top Tier certified, so it carries the federal minimum detergent rather than the higher Top Tier dose. Saving on diesel at BJ's
Diesel saves the same way the other grades do — the discounts stack on it just like they do on 87 or 93. A Club+ membership takes 5¢ a gallon off, a BJ's One or One+ Mastercard knocks off 10–15¢, and Fuel Saver items add 10¢ each; our guide to every BJ's gas discount shows how to layer them on a single fill-up. The catch is universal: BJ's Gas is members-only, and the diesel pump checks your membership before it dispenses — see do you need a BJ's membership to buy gas?
